Jean-Pierre Bissot (Belgium)

Gaume Jazz Festival & jazz au Chellah Morocco

Jean-Pierre Bissot created an international jazz festival with the Jeunesses Musicales, specifically to support bands with young musicians (from Belgium and from all over the world) and to encourage young people to listen to jazz music at the same time: it meant the Gaume Jazz Festival.

Between 1985 and 2011 the Gaume Jazz Festival has counted 28 editions, more than 570 concerts, including 50 creations: one of the most important international projects inside the JM range. Since 1993 he has developed jazz music camps at the same time as the Festival.

In 2009 he was chosen as Director of « JAZZ AU CHELLAH » by the European delegation in Rabat (Morocco).
