Ken Gould (Netherlands)

Fourth of July Celebrations 2011 at the Residence.

With degrees in both mathematics and music, Ken Gould has a diverse professional background. In Southern California, he successively led a marketing & communications company and a real estate practice while simultaneously pursuing a career as a classical singer.

In 1995, he moved to Amsterdam to follow specialized studies in baroque music. From 2007 to 2012, he led Amsterdam’s Jewish Music Festival and established the successful all-genre Jewish Music Competition, bringing 70 ensembles to the Netherlands for more than 150 concerts.

In May 2011, Gould was appointed director of KUNSTENISRAËL, a new non-profit foundation without religious or political affiliation that supports cultural projects from Israel in the Netherlands. Its goal is to bring the Dutch population in contact with a broad spectrum of Israeli arts, including dance, music, literature, film, theater and visual arts. Since its founding 2½ years ago, KUNSTENISRAËL has awarded nearly €300,000 in grants and has helped publicize more than 1,000 events.
