The first (and only, to-date) Israeli jazz pianist to record for ECM Records, Anat Fort is just about to launch her third CD for the label. Her ECM debut, A Long Story (2007), features Ed Schuller, Perry Robinson and legendary drummer Paul Motian.
She has performed at major venues such as Birdland, The Blue Note, the Montreal jazz festival, the JVC jazz festival, Jazz Sur Son 31 (France), Belgrade jazz festival and many more. A prolific composer, she has received grants from Meet the Composer, The Jerome foundation and the Rabinovitch foundation and has been commissioned to compose for the Tel-Aviv Opera House, the Israel festival and the Biennial for Contemporary Music.
Still settling back in her homeland after 17 years in NYC, she continues to perform worldwide with her international trio (Gary Wang, Roland Schneider) with whom she recorded And If (2010), and to establish her solo career.
