Ambrogio Sparagana (Italy) – LA ZAMPOGNA INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL

AMBROGIO SPARAGNAMusician and ethnomusicologist, has realized numerous researches on the field, regarding the musical traditions of Central and southern Italy.

Ambrogio was the “Maestro Concertatore” of the Festival la Notte della Taranta, directing a large orchestra of sixty elements composed of folk instruments and performing many concerts, from Europe to China between the years 2004-2006.

Since 2007 Ambrogio is the founder and Director of the Orchestra Popular Italiana Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome, a large instrumental group stable, which gathers young interpreters coming from all regions of the peninsula, with a view to promoting and enhancing the repertoire of Italian folk music.

In 2009 Ambrogio is a special guest of WOMEX, World Music Expo in Copenhagen.
