Lower Austrian’s cultural institute NÖ-Festival

As Art director of Lower Austrian’s cultural institute NÖ-Festival Ges.m.b.H  and leader  of Klangraum Krems – Minoritenkriche, which is a secularized gothic church, located in a small city called KREMS, Jo Aichinger founded several festivals in different genres of contemporary music, sound-art, and concepts from early music to classical new music and performing arts. Among them he is in charge for programming Glatt&Verkehrt Festival, which is Austria’s  most renowned festival in traditional and contemporary ethnic music or World Music. What firstly begun in 1997 at the main building of Austria largest winery “WINZER KREMS” with almost 100 international and domestic artists, has developed each year in more activities, and now it takes place from beginning till end of July in many different stages along the river Danube at the region WACHAU with more than 40 ensembles and musical projects. In addition, Jo Aichinger also in charge of a local Artists-in-residence program.
